The Fitness Centre is a Darlington based gym that offers a down to earth and friendly place for local people to work out.


PROJECT BRIEF


Thumbs Up Marketing was tasked with improving the value of social media by increasing engagement levels and membership enquiries from new followers.


APPROACH

Historically, the gym was inconsistent and sporadic with its use of social media. It required direction, a plan and goals.

A social media audit and customer insight exercise was carried out to better understand gym goers, their behaviour and the way they used The Fitness Centre social media pages.

A 3 month campaign plan was presented that would ensure followers continued to visit the page and engage. A variety of content was planned, including success stories, fitness tips, nutritional advice and fitness events. Facebook activity was integrated with Google analytics, so that  the relationship between social media activity and web traffic could be tracked and measured.


​OUTCOME - Tada!


Across a 3 month period the following was achieved:

- Membership enquiries were generated as a result of the social media activity, converting into 10 new members.
- Follower numbers increased by 8% across a three month period.
- Likes increased by 7% across a three month period.
- Reach was lifted by 114%  compared to the previous 3 month period.
